HLS was founded in 1991. As a highly complex handling and warehousing company in Hamburg’s sea customs harbour. In 1999, HLS moved to our own logistics terminal in the Port of Hamburg, Afrikastrasse 2, marking the beginning of a new dimension in logistics management. The newly established, flood-protected facility is located on an outdoor area of 34,000 m². In addition, we have more than 10,000 m² of state-of-the-art warehouse space for the smooth processing of customer orders. Our equipment is suitable for hazardous goods of various classes and fulfils the strict legal requirements that apply.

The terminal is perfectly networked with the most important transport axes such as rail, road, air and sea transport. This enables us to achieve short journey times and efficient organisation. Our team is optimally qualified for the diverse tasks. With a high-performance forklift truck fleet ranging from 2.5 to 46 tonnes load capacity, HLS carries out all orders for international sea transport, even overheights and heavy lifts can be handled with ease. We also have four overhead cranes, each with a load capacity of 10 tonnes, for industrial packaging. Specialised overseas packaging for machine and plant components is produced directly at the logistics facility in accordance with regulatory standards. To ensure that your goods can be loaded into containers at any time, HLS stocks empty containers from well-known shipping companies. This means that when it comes to flexible logistics, we are always ready to go.
Professional handling of customs inspections.
HLS takes care of sample drawings as well as destruction under customs supervision.In addition, we have developed software for our customers that is connected to all important ship terminals. The advantage: the latest ship and container data for import shipments can be called up online at any time. All of our processes are certified in accordance with HACCP, GMP+ and AEO-F.
